English Bujhbo ("we", "us") provides a daily English-learning service for Bangladeshi learners. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use our app or website, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using English Bujhbo, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information we collect
1.1 Account information
When you sign up, we collect the email address and display name associated with your Google account. We use Firebase Authentication to manage sign-in. We do not see or store your Google password.
1.2 Learning data
We collect information about your activity inside the app:
- Which lessons you have started and completed
- Quiz answers, accuracy, and time spent on each activity
- Streaks, XP, and other progress metrics
- App preferences (e.g. language, audio settings)
1.3 Speaking practice audio
When you record yourself speaking, the audio is sent to our AI speech-to-text provider for transcription and pronunciation feedback. We do not retain long-term recordings of your voice.
1.4 Payment data
If you upgrade, payment is processed by EPS. We do not see or store your card or banking details. We only receive a confirmation that your payment succeeded.
2. How we use your information
- To provide and personalise your lessons and progress tracking
- To improve lesson quality and fix bugs
- To process payments and unlock paid content
- To communicate important updates about your account or the service
3. Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share information only with the service providers who power the app: Firebase (authentication), Google Cloud (hosting), MongoDB Atlas (lesson content), OpenAI (speech-to-text) and EPS (payments). Each provider is bound by their own privacy obligations.
4. Data retention
We keep your account and learning data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain limited records (e.g. payment receipts) for legal or accounting reasons.
5. Your choices
- You can request access to or deletion of your data by emailing us.
- You can sign out at any time from inside the app.
- You can disable microphone access in your device settings.
6. Children
English Bujhbo is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you in the app or by email.
